New and Noteworthy: Welcome to Le Clique Foto's new home on the web!
We’ve been besieged by fog ’round here in these parts. When you’re given lemons, make lemonade right? I figured it was the perfect chance to borrow the new Nikon D3s and see what it was all about. All shots were handheld by moonlight (full moon) in a full coat of fog. First and last shot were at ISO 3200 and the middle was shot at a whopping ISO 12,800. All were at f2.8. As you’d expect things get a bit noisy at ISO 12,800 but as far as I’m concerned results are more than acceptable especially when you consider the dense fog is also responsible for a good deal of the noise. Best of all, the location for these shots was the front yard. That’s the cool thing about a camera- you can have fun anywhere.

On Wednesday we went downhill mountain biking for the first time this year at Diablo Freeride Park in the picturesque hamlet of Vernon, NJ. Of Course we brought a camera and in the process of shooting lots of riding shots I squeezed in a few more artful ones. Shots were taken with my D300, SB-800 flash and either a 50mm 1.8 or 70-200 2.8.
For anyone interested you can see our riding pics (my screen name is nervous_john, photos on page 3) along with a few shots from our good friend Whoryder by browsing through the pages in the forum link below:
Ridemonkey: Wednesday Shred Pics!

I literally stumbled across this children’s shoe walking home about a week ago. I snapped a quick shot and thought nothing of it until I had a chance to look through my card a few days ago. I really like how the red contrasts with the gray background. I wasn’t expecting the DOF to so extreme, but I think it works.
