We had a chance to attend the 25th annual Wings over Houston (WOH!) airshow this weekend. In addition to some great weather and spectacularly restored aircraft we were treated to some fancy flying by the Commemorative Airforce and the Navy’s Blue Angels.
Here are some photos I took of the last couple of days we’ve been in Alaska, though not in any particular order. See comments under each. Shot with 70-300mm vr, 24-70mm, on a D700. Thanks Joni!
Fishers in Anchorage, AK (everyone in Alaska seems to take their fishing very seriously)
Lake Hood, in Anchorage (sea planes are more useful than cars in most of Alaska)
Otters near Surprise Glacier in Prince William Sound (our guide gave the heads up for a “rogue otter on ice”)
This photo was taken after a storm passed through our area. The sky was a very intense orange/red and the clouds appeared as little “ice cream scoops”, like something I’ve never seen. I climbed up the fire escape and captured this airliner departing from EWR just before the sky cleared.
